Why Poland is a Great Choice
Wethrift’s report is based on the 30 top countries from the Women, Peace and Security Index. Poland scored 99.59 points, placing it at the top. The study looked at food, transport, hotel prices, safety (including how safe women feel walking alone at night), and how many solo tours are available. Poland got 61.97 points for safety — a very high result.

The authors of the report and the popular website Time Out praise Poland, especially its big cities. Warsaw was recently named one of the top 10 cities in the world for solo female travelers. And Kraków? According to Time Out’s Tristan Parker, it’s not only great for sightseeing but also for nightlife and modern art.
Poland also has something for every type of traveler — from the Tatra Mountains near Kraków, to the Bieszczady Mountains near Rzeszów, and the Karkonosze Mountains near Wrocław. And if you love the sea, the Tri-City (Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia) is a great choice.
