A major highlight is the launch of a direct train from Warsaw to Croatia, making it easier than ever to reach the sunny Adriatic coast without flying. Direct trains from Poland to Europe

Starting in July 2025, travellers will be able to take a direct train from Warsaw to Rijeka, a beautiful seaside city in Croatia. This route will pass through the Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovenia, offering scenic views and a smooth journey.

  • Planned route: Warsaw – Katowice – Ostrava – Břeclav – Maribor – Ljubljana – Rijeka
  • Ticket prices: Starting from PLN 200 (about €50)

This train is perfect for those who want a relaxing, transfer-free trip to the Croatian coast. It’s also a great choice for eco-conscious travelers who want to avoid flying.

Comfortable trips to Austria

Vienna continues to be a popular destination for Polish tourists, and now it’s even easier to get there by train. You can travel directly to Vienna from four major Polish cities:

  • From Warsaw – about 7 hours, from PLN 109
  • From Katowice – 5 hours, from PLN 99
  • From Wrocław – via Katowice
  • From Gdynia – around 10 hours, from PLN 159

Booking is simple through PKP Intercity or ÖBB, with options for class upgrades, sleeping cars, and onboard meals.

Czech Republic – Fast access to Prague

The Baltic Express offers four daily trips from Poland to Prague, including a night train. It serves both large cities like Poznań and Gdynia, and smaller towns like Kłodzko and Inowrocław.

  • Prices: From €14.90 (Wrocław), €24.90 (Poznań), €29.90 (Gdynia)
  • Travel times: 4–9 hours depending on the city

Trains are modern, with both 1st and 2nd class and a restaurant car, making it a very comfortable choice for visiting the Czech capital.

Germany – More direct routes than ever

If you’re heading to Germany, PKP Intercity is expanding its services. The Berlin–Warsaw Express will run every 2 hours starting summer 2025. A new night train from Chełm–Łódź–Berlin will also make travel easier for central Poland residents.

New trains to Leipzig from Przemyśl and Kraków (via Wrocław and Opole) will make transfers to major German cities like Munich or Frankfurt even easier.

Direct train to Hungary

Want to visit Budapest? New direct trains from Warsaw mean you can get there in just over 11 hours — no transfers required. Tickets start around PLN 200, and there are options for seats, sleeper berths, and more.
