The route will be run by PKP Intercity, and its good news for travelers looking for an easy and eco-friendly way to reach the seaside. This new connection is not only great for tourists, but also helps the environment. It gives people a greener choice than flying and supports tourism between Poland and Croatia. The ticket prices and train stops on the route have also been announced.

Direct train from Poland to Croatia launches July 1, 2025

Recent data shows that Croatia is one of the most popular holiday spots for people from Poland. In 2024, about 1.17 million Polish tourists visited Croatia – that’s 7.5% more than the year before. They spent over 7 million nights there, which is also a 6.3% increase compared to the previous year.

In April, Poland’s Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, confirmed that a direct train to Croatia will be launched. It’s meant to be a cheaper and greener alternative to flying. Ticket prices will start at about 200 zł (around €50).

Polish media reports that the train from Poland to Croatia will stop in Opoczno Południe, Włoszczowa Północna, and Katowice. After Poland, it will continue through the Czech Republic with stops in Ostrava and Břeclav, then pass through Austria and Slovenia, stopping in Maribor and Ljubljana. The final stop will be the coastal city of Rijeka in Croatia.

The train will leave Warsaw at 14:00 and arrive in Rijeka around 09:00 the next morning.

PKP Intercity is also thinking about extending the route to Split, another popular city on the Croatian coast. This would give travelers even more options to reach holiday destinations by train.
