
Wizz Air new payment rules 2025 – Flying with Wizz Air will soon look a little different. The airline has announced that it will introduce new payment rules on board its flights, effective from April 1, 2025. The biggest change is the complete shift to cashless transactions. In addition, passengers will face new restrictions when it comes to shopping during the flight.
Only card and digital payments accepted
From April, cash payments will no longer be accepted on Wizz Air flights. All purchases on board must be made by card or via contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or Android Pay. According to Wizz Air, the new system will simplify transactions and make the in-flight experience more convenient for passengers.

The airline is also expanding its payment options by partnering with Revolut. In addition to VISA and Mastercard, passengers will now be able to pay using Revolut. New Revolut users will benefit from a promotional offer: after opening an account and spending their first €5, they will receive a refund of up to €25.
These changes come as airlines across Europe are updating their policies. Recently, Ryanair announced it will require all passengers to use digital boarding passes from November 2025. The airline also introduced a rule allowing seat changes even for passengers who paid for assigned seats.

In addition to switching to cashless payments, Wizz Air will also introduce a limit on how much passengers can spend during a flight. From April 2025, each passenger will be allowed to spend up to €150 per flight. Furthermore, for any purchase of €50 or more, passengers will be required to present their boarding pass at the time of payment. The airline says this measure is aimed at preventing abuse and ensuring financial security for passengers.
Changes apply to all Wizz Air passengers
These new rules are part of Wizz Air’s broader strategy to improve the in-flight experience and streamline service. According to the airline, eliminating cash payments will allow cabin crew to focus more on passenger service rather than handling money, making the process quicker and more efficient.
