Flights cancelled to tourist destinations. Travel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an important travel warning: flights to and from seven countries in the Middle East and Persian Gulf have been suspended because of rising conflict in the region.
It’s not just a government decision — major airlines like Lufthansa, Emirates, and Qatar Airways have also cancelled or changed flight routes. Some airlines have even banned flights until the end of July. If you’re planning a trip to this part of the world, or even just a layover, make sure to check your booking to see if your flight is affected.

Countries affected by the flight suspension:
- Jordan
- Saudi Arabia
- Oman
- Kuwait
- Qatar
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
- Bahrain
The warning, issued by the German Foreign Office, follows military actions between Israel and Iran. On the night of June 12 to 13, Israel launched airstrikes on targets in Iran, and Iran responded with drone attacks. As a result, the situation is very unstable, and airspace in the region may close at any time.
